Goodwill Southern Rivers plans to host a large multi-industry hiring event on Wednesday at the Career Center connected to their new store in LaGrange.

The hiring event will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Goodwill Career Center located at 319 Commerce Avenue in LaGrange.

Jobs will be available for positions in a wide range of fields from auto and textile manufacturing to hospitality and healthcare, and even law enforcement.

As is common with similar local hiring events, the majority of the jobs available will be within the manufacturing industry, but several staffing companies will also be on hand with a diverse variety of employment opportunities.

Over 250 jobs will be up for grabs during the event with both full-time and part-time positions.

Career Center Manager Bob Goehring says the Goodwill hiring events have been a success, including the recent one hosted at Great Wolf Lodge. Another hiring event is in the works for late August.

It’s difficult to determine how many hires come from these events, as all employers often do not report that information, but Goehring estimates that least 10 percent of attendees find employment as a result of the program.

Many of the potential employers are ready to hire, so he recommended everyone attend dressed for an interview. Goehring advised that private space for interviews will be limited, but all of the employers will be accepting applications and resumes.

A total of 13 employers plan to be at the event well over 250 jobs that are ready to be filled.

Employers signed up for the event include: Hyundai Transys, Milliken, Mauser, Callaway Gardens, VSP Logis, Global Pinnacle Care, ADVIOS, Mando, MAU Workforce Solutions, Troup County Sheriff’s Office, Distinctive Personnel, Nightingale, and NAOS Staffing.

Goehring reminds that additional employers regularly provide the Career Center with job postings to distribute, so if these fields don’t sound like they are for you, visit their office to pursue other employment opportunities.
