Mr. Otis Gilbert passed away Monday. He was born Nov. 22, 1965, in Pine Mountain, Troup County, Georgia to the late Mr. Walter Gilbert and Mrs. Jennie Lou Daniels-Gilbert.

He graduated from LaGrange High School, Class of 1983, and was previously employed by McClane LaGrange until his retirement; before starting his own trucking company, Vision Transports, Inc.

In his spare time, Otis was active in the community by volunteering countless hours as a Coach with Troup County Parks and Recreation; and founded the LaGrange Warriors AAU Basketball Organization.

Survivors include six children: Shandrika (D’Lon, Sr.) Staples, LaGrange, Georgia; Corey Webb, Newnan, Georgia; Jonathan Gilbert, LaGrange, Georgia; Ki’ena Burden, D’Erika Burden, and Isaiah Burden, all of LaGrange, Georgia; six grandchildren: mother-in-law, Ms. Gloria Burden; siblings:  Mary (Dewery) Davenport, Chattanooga, Tennessee; Vivian (Gregory) Smith, Decatur, Georgia; Stacey Renae Gilbert, LaGrange, Georgia; Timothy (Sirtoria) Gilbert, Dacula, Georgia; brother-in-law, Titus Burden, Jr.; aunts: Jeanette Brooks, Jefferson, Georgia; Lavonia Motion, Pine Mountain, Georgia; Josephine Gates, LaGrange, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, and an array of relatives and friends.

The Service will be Saturday at 11  A.M. at Boyd Presbyterian.

The excellent care of Mr. Gilbert is being provided  by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
