Callaway Middle School took a tough 5-0 loss to Carrollton Middle on Tuesday evening. Carrollton jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning and scored the other three runs in the following inning to put the Cavaliers in a hole they could not dig themselves out of.

The Cavaliers potent offense was kept cooped up as they could only manage three hits in the game. Lilah Monteith came off the bench and got a hit in her only at-bat. Jasmine Chevez was 1-for-3 and Bella Cleveland was 1-for-2 to round out the hit department for Callaway.

Cleveland got the start on the mound for the Cavaliers and went four innings. Monteith came in to relieve her and shut the Carrollton offense down as she only allowed two hits on three strikeouts in just two innings of work.

Callaway drops to 5-3 on the season. The Cavaliers will be back on the diamond at home on Thursday in a doubleheader versus Cowan.
