Mr. Kevin Cotney, 48, of Valley, Alabama passed away on Friday, Sept. 2nd, 2022 at his residence.

Kevin was born on Oct. 11th, 1973 at Langdale Hospital in Valley.  He attended Valley High School and was the Owner / Operator of Cotney Pest Control in Valley.  He enjoyed working and visiting with all of his customers.  He was a big University of Alabama fan.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Joyce (Ronnie) Hurst of Lanett, Alabama; brother, Joey Cotney; step-sister, Cheryl White; step-brother, Ronald Hurst.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steve Cotney; grandparents, L. M. and Lucille Cotney and Leon and Nell Holmes.

A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at 2 P.M. (EST) at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley. Mr. Mike Moncrief will officiate. Kevin’s family received friends Tuesday afternoon from 1 P.M. PM (EST) until the service hour at the funeral home.

Kevin was a long time sponsor of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.   In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org , in his memory.
