Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

It was a rough day on the road Monday for the LaGrange softball team as Northside avenged a loss from earlier in the season to beat the Grangers 8-0.

The Patriots scored all eight of their runs across the first two innings as they ran away with the game early.

LaGrange could get preciously little going offensively with only one hit on the night with starting pitcher Kaylee Bryant going 1-for-2. Bryant pitched all four innings.

Tatina Dudley took a walk and was the only other Granger to reach base in the game. LaGrange batters were only struck out three times.

Keyuna Peables – who had four RBIs in the first matchup – proved to be a thorn in the side of the Grangers once again on Monday with a grand slam. She was 2-for-3 with five RBIs in the game.

The Grangers won the earlier season matchup 12-11 in Granger park behind a stellar offensive effort from Kimberly Reynolds and a walk-off single by freshman Shelby Siggers.

Northside was ranked no. 2 in AAAAA coming into the season by Score Atlanta and has lived up the billing as they are 13-5 and are currently ranked no. 4 in AAAAA by MaxPreps.

LaGrange fell to 10-6 overall, but this non-region game did not affect their second place position in their region (4-2). The Grangers will get to wash the taste of defeat immediately as they will suit up for a region game against Riverdale on Tuesday at Granger Park. Riverdale is winless in region play (0-5) and has been outscored 104-4 in those games.
