Mrs. Rebecca Juanita McGill Bailey, (93), of LaGrange, passed away on Sept. 12, 2022.  

Mrs. Bailey was born on Feb. 27, 1929 in Wadley, Alabama to the late Samuel Curtis and Beulah Mabel Evans McGill.  

She was a graduate of Wadley High School and was a former employee of the Elm City Plant of Callaway Mills and the Troup County Schools System as a Bus Driver.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie A. Bailey; brothers and their wives, G. W. and Ethel McGill and Curtis B. “Runt” and Carolyn McGill; sister and her husband, Florine and Raymond Whitecotton; granddaughter, Rebecca Clarice Bailey; niece, Ophelia McGill Stephens. 

A faithful servant of God, Mrs. Bailey was a member of Murphy Avenue Church of Christ, now Four Oaks Church of Christ for over seventy-four years. 

She was a member of the Georgettes, a women’s fast pitch softball team that won the Georgia State Championship for three years in a row, 1957, 1958 and 1959.  

She loved camping, water skiing and took her first motorcycle ride at age 91.  

Survivors include her sons and their wives, Wayne and Ann Bailey and Rickey and Darlene Bailey; ten grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family.  

Funeral services will be held on Thurs. Sept. 15, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the Four Oaks Church of Christ with Ministers Larry Thompson and Sonny Fling officiating.  

Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery.
