It was a rivalry game for Callaway Middle on Friday as the Cavaliers topped Long Cane 8-3 to stretch their win streak out to six games.

Callaway bombarded Long Cane with two runs in the first inning, two in the second and one in the third before the Cougars answered back with a run in the top of the fourth to make 5-1 Callaway. The Cavaliers had a quick response with three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning before Long Cane added two more in the top of the fifth.

Bella Cleveland was the star of the show once again for the Cavaliers. She was 3-for-3 with an RBI offensively and got the start on the mound. She pitched four innings while only allowing three hits and one earned run on five strikeouts.

Lilah Monteith came in to relieve her and pitched the final two innings and allowed just one hit and two earned runs on three strikeouts.

Ella Kelly was also outstanding for the Cavaliers. She was 2-for-2 and led the team with three RBIs. Skylar Reeves, Jaycee Brooks, Ryleigh Seymour, Jasmin Chavez, Mckinley Milner, and Maddie Cotton all had a hit a piece for the Cavaliers.

Callaway improved to 11-3 on the season. The Cavaliers will be back on the diamond against Carrollton on the road next Tuesday.
