The LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce will host its annual golf tournament on Thursday, Oct. 6.

The 2022 Peachy Greens Chamber Golf Classic will be held at Highland Country Club at 1001 Country Club Dr. in LaGrange.

The tournament will host two flights of golfers, with morning teams starting at 8 a.m. and afternoon teams starting at 12:30 p.m.

The tournament is a four-person scramble format. The cost to participate is $500 for morning teams and $600 for afternoon teams. The tournament also sells mulligans and other add-ons.

The tournament will allow for handicaps using United States Golf Association (USGA) Golf Handicap Information Network (GHIN) registration numbers.

New to the event this year is their “Pot Shot” contest, where golfers can compete for the best shot while sitting on a toilet.

Golfers will also be able to participate in a closest to the pin contest and a longest-drive contest.

Prizes for the tournament include $1,000 cash for first place, $500 in pro shop credit for second place and $300 pro shop credit for third.

A car and a beach vacation rental are also being offered as prizes for a hole-in-one on two of the holes.

Breakfast will be provided for the morning flight and lunch will be provided for the afternoon fight. Both meals will be served 30 minutes prior to tee time. The practice range will open at 7 a.m.

The LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce golf tournament was created 18 years ago as a networking event for its members. It also serves as a fundraiser for chamber programs.

“It’s just a fun event where our members can get together to talk, network and have fun,” LaGrange-Troup President Connie Hensler said.

Chamber members can also sponsor “Business on the Tee” to set up a booth at each tee box. Hensler said they are encouraging members to have fun interactive booths with giveaways this year.

Several spaces are still available for golf teams on morning and afternoon flights, but spots are going quick.

“We are limited to 20 teams in the morning and 20 teams in the afternoon,” Hensler said.

To register for the tournament, visit the LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce at 111 Bull Street or email them at info@lagrangechamber.com.
