Elsie Johnson, (82), of LaGrange, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Thus. Sept. 22, 2022.

Ms. Johnson was born Jan. 15, 1940 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Dewey Clifton and Mary Fannin Clifton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wheeler McCormick and son, Marty McCormick.

She was the youngest of three children and was raised in Franklin, Georgia. She married Wheeler McCormick and together they had four children. 

Elsie worked at AT&T in Atlanta for many years before retiring. 

She enjoyed reading her Bible and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

 She loved giving gifts and having family stop by. 

She looked forward to being with Jesus and her son and now she is there.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Joe) Ivey and Patti (Johnnie) Cameron; son, Thad (Brenda) McCormick; grandchildren, Will McCormick, Chad McCormick, Whitney Garcia, Josh Folds, Barbara (Whitt) Brown, Christy (Richard) Gosdin and Julianna May; great-grandchildren, Braylin McCormick, Noah McCormick, Abel McCormick, Sawyer McCormick, Savannah McCormick, JB Garcia, Evelyn Garcia, JD Brwon, Sydney Brown, Suzanna Brown, Bo Brown, Dillon Gosdin and Jack Gosdin.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Mon. Sept. 26, 2022 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Georgia.  Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M Tues. Sept.  27, 2022 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in LaGrange, Georgia. Those wishing to share a condolence or remembrance with the family may do so by visiting www.shlagrange.com.
