On Thursday, Pastor Chris Evans of the Destiny Worship Center officially opened the doors to Destiny Global Studios — a studio dedicated to helping locals celebrate and create various types of media all in the comfort of their community.

According to Evans, the idea of Destiny Global Studios was developed during the pandemic. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Evans strictly began conducting church services online at the studio, until he asked himself, “What’s going to be the best way to do church when the pandemic is over?”

“It immediately dropped in my spirit that we needed to do a studio,” Evans said. “Since we’ve been back from the pandemic, we’ve had probably about 50 return and roughly 50 that still watch the service online.”

Evans said getting the studio has been something he thinks was ahead of the curve and at the same time, helped to create a revenue stream.

“I knew that there wasn’t a studio here in LaGrange where people could come film and do TV shows,” Evans said. “I had a lot of members that wanted to do stuff, so I thought this would be a win/win situation for me, the community, the church and our membership.”

According to Evans, his church now works as a studio and church to what has been a bit of an adjustment for service attendees that are used to a traditional church setting.

“It’s taken a minute for people to catch on to it. People are beginning to understand that this is this a studio, but it’s a church that’s a little different.” Evans said.

Currently in the works at Destiny Global are two talk shows called, Let’s Talk with Viedra Sullivan and the Caysin Project with Jerome Copeland.

Let’s Talk with Viedra Sullivan will be the first TV show filmed in the studio and is set to start filming the first four episodes on Oct. 8 with a live audience. The Caysin Project is currently filming three episodes at the studio, and Copeland airs them on Facebook.

Evans said he hopes that the studio will expand the community’s mindset in terms of what television can be.

“Just because you live in LaGrange does not mean that you can’t make TV shows or get into television, the TV world exists for anybody that wants to get into it,” he said. “People don’t have to be in Atlanta, Los Angles, Chicago or New York, they can be right here in LaGrange and birth their own show.”

Destiny Global Studio is located on 1300 LaFayette Parkway.
