Daniela Brooks, (67), of LaGrange, Georgia passed away Fri. Sept. 30, 2022 at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Daniela was born March 8, 1955, in Heimbach, Germany, daughter of the late Denver O’ferrell Short and Christa Meineke Short.  

Daniela worked as the secretary and bookkeeper for Steve Brooks Landscaping and Irrigation for many years. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Short and John Short.

Survivors include her husband, Steve Brooks of Steve Brooks Landscaping and Irrigation; children, Stephanie Brooks (Adam Seiz) and Melissa Ruiz (Jose Ruiz); grandchildren, Jose Ruiz and Sydney Ruiz; siblings, Mary Zeigler, Danny Short, Robert Short, and Christine Smith; sister-in-law, Susan Allen; brother-in-law, Gary Brooks (Elizabeth Brooks); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life memorial service will be held 2 P.M. Mon. Oct. 3, 2022 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, LaGrange, Georgia with Reverend Joel Chapman officiating.  

The gathering of family and friends will be on Mon. from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to the LaGrange Arts Museum in memory of Daniela Brooks.

The family will be at their home, 3439 Dallas Mill Road, LaGrange, Georgia.
