Troup came out refocused and re-energized facing elimination from the playoffs. After dropping a tight affair with Wayne County in the opening game, the Tigers battered Westover 20-4 to keep their playoff hopes alive and survive to play another day. 

Troup made light work of the Patriots and it started with a five run onslaught in the opening frame of the game before adding 14 more in the second inning. The Tigers added another run in the third inning after Westover got on back in the bottom of the second inning to make it 20-1

Quality offense came from all across the Tigers offensive lineup. Ramsey Clark, Kaleigh Rutland, Caroline McInvale, Camdyn Bassett and Madeira Sirmons all scored three runs apiece. Despite offense from everybody it was Clark that had the only multi-hit game for the Tigers as she went 2-for-2 with an RBI and a walk. The Tigers got a chance to empty the bench and get some players that do not usually get playing time some experience in a playoff game. Kaylee Umfress, Faith Horton and Eris Whitfield all came off the bench and impressed in limited action. Umfress got a hit and scored a run while Horton registered a hit, an RBI and a run scored. Whitfield drove in a run as well. Rutland, Bassett, Madeira Sirmons, Sheniyah Philpot, Chloe Liechty, and Haley Cotton all had a hit apiece for the Tigers. Bassett, Liechty and Cotton led the team with two RBIs each. 

Maggie McDonald got an easy shift on the mound as she only had to pitch one inning where she allowed one hit on two strikeouts. Horton came in to relieve her and pitched the final two innings of the game.

Troup will be back in the fray on Wednesday at 2 p.m. against the loser of Wayne County and Perry.
