Troup is moving on to the super regional finals after beating Perry 6-3 in an elimination game on Wednesday afternoon.

Camdyn Bassett was the star for the Tigers. After a good, but not great, pitching performance against Wayne County to start the super regional, she kept a potent Perry offense at bay on Wednesday. She pitched all seven innings, allowed just nine hits and two earned runs on five strikeouts. Bassett was also critical from the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored.  

Perry jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but an offensive explosion in the third inning was enough for the Tigers to get the win. Caroline McInvale hit an RBI single to tie the game before Camdyn Bassett hit a double to drive in two runs on a double. Madeira Sirmons hit a single to drive in the fourth and final run of the inning for the Tigers. Troup needed Simrons offense, who went 2-for-4 with an RBI. 

Trope got some insurance runs in the top of the sixth inning, and it started with Ramsey Clark grounding into a fielder’s choice, but Maggie McDonald made it home before the tag could be applied. Haley Kitchens followed this with an RBI groundout to make it 6-1 Tigers.

The Yellow Jackets answered back with a two-out hit that drove in two runs to cut the Tiger lead to 6-3.  

Anna Grace Keller was outstanding from the plate, going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Haley Cotton kept her above .500 on base percentage alive by going 2-for-3 with a run scored. McDonald went 1-for-2 with an RBI and two walks. McInvale had a hit in the game to go along with an RBI. 

This was a massive win for the Tiger program who now stand among the final 16 teams alive in AAAA softball.

After taking a 6-3 loss to Wayne County in the opening game of super regionals, the Tigers have bounced back with two straight wins in elimination games. Now, Troup is heading to the super regional finals and a chance for revenge against Wayne County. Troup will have to beat Wayne County in two straight games on Wednesday to win the super regional while the Yellow Jackets just need to win one of the two games to win the super regional and advance to the final tournament in Columbus. 

The first game will start at 4 p.m with a potential second game following the conclusion of the first.
