On Thursday, Women in Business, a LaGrange-Troup Chamber of Commerce and Results Property Management sponsored event, returned for its third year at An Affair to Remember.

“It’s women, just enjoying the company of other women,” Regina Ingram, owner of Results Property Management said. “We eat, we drink, we cut up. We have a lot of fun. This is not a stuffy business meeting.”

Ingram said the event started with roughly six local businesswomen in LaGrange and has since grown. The group was having dinner one night when the idea of making a networking/ support group for women who run their own business came about.

“It’s a once-a-year thing right now,” Ingram said. “We’re hoping to make it twice a year and then maybe a quarterly event or a monthly event. We don’t know where it’s going, but it has grown over three years, and we’re hoping to keep it going.”

Ingram said the event isn’t solely for networking, but it also works as a way to relax and celebrate the accomplishments of the women in attendance.

“Networking is just kind of an advantage of having it, but really, it’s just a celebration,” she said.

Ingram said she hopes for all attendees to feel welcomed at the event and get the opportunity to relax for a night.

“This event is a chance to spotlight yourself and meet new people that never knew who you were, what you do and allow them to take advantage of what you can offer them as well as see what they can offer to you in return,” Ingram said.

For Ingram, the event is a time to have fun and get to know local services.

“Because of what I do for a living, I don’t get out and about as much and just enjoy myself because it’s always work,” she said. “I can find out what new businesses are in town or what services are offered that I might not know otherwise because of this event.”

The event is a good time, Ingram said.

“This is a social event for women to celebrate women and their accomplishments from anything to just making it through a random Thursday,” Ingram said.
