Mr. Vestal Wortham Thomas, (79) of LaGrange, passed Sat. Nov 19, 2022 at Sacred Journey Hospice in Newnan.

Vestal was born Oct. 20, 1943 in LaGrange, and was preceded in death by his father Horace Wortham Thomas and his mother Mary “Pauline” Denham Thomas Butler. And most recently his niece Regina Butler Guay.

He was retired from the City of LaGrange gas department. He served in the Army National Gaurd in Nevada and was a sharp shooter. He loved going to the senior center and playing pool there. He loved gardening and his cat. 

He always had a lifelong love of finding good deals and wheelin’ and dealin’,  especially Coca-Cola items. 

He is survived by his daughter Lorrie Ann Thomas (and Chris Hayes), his brother Horace Wortham Thomas Jr. “Junior” and Deborah, his sister LeeAnn Woody and Tim, his granddaughters Julia Nicole Jacoby and Megan Alexandra Steele (and fiancé Christian), his only great grandchild Adriel Javier Cortes, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of his Life will be held at noon on Sat. Dec. 10 in LaGrange at Shadowlawn Cemetery followed by lunch at the Good ‘ol Country Buffet on Vernon.
