The Young Singers of West Georgia (YSWG) will continue a local Christmas tradition as they perform their 27th annual Christmas Memories concert. Presented by the Lafayette Society for Performing Arts(LSPA) and Kimberly-Clark, Christmas Memories features conventional and contemporary holiday hits performed by students of all ages.

Artistic director Stacey Hardigree leads the choir through a collection of musical genres over many eras of music.

“Preparing for Christmas Memories is one of my  favorite activities every season,” Hardigree said. “There are so many traditions in Young Singers and in the beauty of Christmas in general, which evoke much happiness, nostalgia and sentimentality.”

Through the bustling preparations of Christmas Memories, Hardigree hopes that viewers get into the spirit of the season and that the experience of the concert is a positive one for the singers.

“As you watch our special young performers this Christmas, the melodies, and memories of them standing on this stage will become a lasting Christmas memory to be cherished and revisited in your minds as the years pass,” Hardigree said. “Above all, I hope the performers will remember this experience with fondness.”

Christmas Memories will take place at LaGrange High School Auditorium, located at 516 North Greenwood Street. The concert has two dates, scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 9 at 7 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased by calling LSPA’s ticket office at (706) 882-9909 during business hours, Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased by visiting the website at LSPArts.ORG. General seating for adults is $15 and for students $10.
