Mr. William Laye passed away Monday at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

He was born March 21, 1939, to the late Douglas Laye, Sr. and Sarah Laye in LaGrange, Georgia.

He united with the Smyrna Baptist Church, graduated from Ethel W. Kight High School, served in the US Army, and was previously employed by Woodbury Business Forms and Milliken and Company’s Live Oak Plant.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Laye; his children:  William Terrance Laye, LaGrange, Georgia; Konstanza Laye and Vatrina (James) Kemp, both of Atlanta, Georgia; and Karen (Dexter) Rowland, LaGrange, Georgia; nine grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; two sisters:  Mary Frances Glenn and Margaret Patterson, both of LaGrange, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The service will be Tuesday at noon at Smyrna Baptist Church.

The excellent care of Mr. Laye is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
