The owners of UrgenCare are planning to open a new type of health clinic in LaGrange.

The new clinic is called LivWell Health and is a bit different than the UrgenCare clinics in LaGrange, Hamilton and Auburn.

LivWell Clinic is a wellness center that will include services from primary care to weight loss to IV hydration therapy, to aesthetics, which include Botox, dermal fillers and hydrafacial treatments among others.
The new clinic is being started by owners and healthcare providers Jordan Martinec. John Veal, Ryan Gatens and Dr. Yomi Oshinowo.

Martinec said they have been planning the new type of clinic for a while.

“This has been something we’ve been working on for about a couple of years now,” Martinec said. “Coming off 2020 and really through 2022. I think there’s has been kind of a dark cloud and negativity over medicine in general.”

“From a patient standpoint and a provider standpoint, we’re always looking for new, kinds of innovative and new ways and medicine you know, to keep things interesting and to keep up with modern medicine and the way things are going,” he said.

“During the COVID days, we were looking for just something to kind of get people excited about their health care and about their personal health, and I think this was an opportunity for us to provide that to the community.”

The new clinic aims to help people on their healthcare and wellness journey, whether that’s through primary care, helping people lose weight, or just looking better aesthetically and feeling better.

“When people, look good, they feel good. There’s a direct correlation between their mental health and feeling good and their mental health,” Martinec said. “Coming out of COVID, there is a bit of need for improvement overall of one’s mental and physical health.”

Unlike the regular UrgenCare clinics, LivWell will be by appointment only.

“It’ll be different from the urgent care setting not only in the way of services but also in the booking process. It will not be walk-in only. It will be by appointment, Monday through Friday, eight to five, which will be different from UrgenCare,” Martinec said. ”The focus will be more on chronic care, disease management, weight loss and aesthetics.”

“It’s going to be more of a concierge-type service as far as the aesthetic side and even to some extent the primary care side,” Gatens said. “What we’re doing is also going to be more about the experience. We want people to have a good experience. It’s a one-stop shop for wellness.”

The weight loss aspect of the clinic isn’t just for aesthetics, it’s a major health issue.

“Weight loss itself is not just about the vanity weight, but obesity is a disease, so it needs to be treated just like diabetes or hypertension, or any of these other chronic disease orders,” Veal said.

Caroline Stone, of UrgenCare, said the new clinic is “healthcare reimagined.”

“It’s just more of a holistic approach of being a happier, healthier version of you,” she said.

LivWell Heath is expected to open in early 2023 at 210 Broome St. in LaGrange near Walgreens.
