Catherine M. Cauthen,  (70) of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.

Cathe was born in Newnan, Georgia on Dec. 15, 1952. 

Her parents, Charles Ray McKay and Doris W. McKay, son, Andrew Cauthen, brothers, Charles Ray McKay, Jr and Stacy Albert McKay all preceded her in death. 

Cathe was a 1970 graduate of Griffin High School. She had previously worked for Bell South in LaGrange, starting as an operator working her way up the ranks to become one of the first women in the lines installation department.  

Cathe lived in Hampton for several years and while there, she worked at Kangaroo where she treated everyone like family, making many friends.

 She moved back to Griffin where she cared for her mom until her passing. 

After leaving Griffin, she moved to LaGrange where she resided until she passed. 

She enjoyed working in the yard, painting, Facebook friends, and talking on the phone with family and friends. 

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, John Christopher Cauthen, Charles Michael Cauthen and wife, Janna, Stacy Joel Cauthen and wife, Melinda; grandchildren, Hayley Murphy and husband, Zak, Madison Cauthen, Catherine D. Cauthen, Hunter Nolan Cauthen; great grandchildren, Isaiac Timothy Cauthen, Emmie McKenzie Cauthen; sister, Pat Strickland and husband, Jim; many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, from 1 P.M. until 2 P.m. at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. 

A memorial service will follow in the chapel. Pastor Phillip Ivey will officiate.

Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, 1891 W. McIntosh Road, Griffin, is in charge of the arrangements.
