Severe storms are possible in Troup County Thursday evening and Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

“Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon through late this evening,” the NWS said on its website. Main threats include strong to damaging winds (up to 60 mph), a few isolated tornadoes, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Have at least two ways to receive weather warnings.”

Troup County is under an enhanced threat, which is three out of five on the NWS’ severe weather scale.
