Mr. J. Hollis Flournoy, (87), of LaGrange, passed away on Jan. 12, 2023.  

Mr. Flournoy was born on Jan. 11, 1936, in Williamson, Georgia to the late George T. Flournoy and Velma Horton Flournoy. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Stuart (Wade).  

He proudly served his country in the United States Army, retiring after twenty two years of service and two tours of duty in Vietnam.  

Upon retirement from the military, he worked for a number of years as a truck driver for Burlington Motor Carriers.  

He was a member of Dunson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Carolyn Johnson Flournoy; sister, Annette Mallory (the late Pete Mallory) of LaGrange; brother, Horace Flournoy (the late Dot Mallory) of Jacksonville, Florida; stepdaughters, Barbie Crockett (Mike) of Centralhatchee, Dee Forbus (Buddy) of Pine Mountain, Cynthia Wood (Boot) of LaGrange and Cathy Daugherty (Tommie) of LaGrange; stepson, Diron Johnson (Laura) of Surprise, Arizona; step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and extended family.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023, at 2 P.M. at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel with Pastor Kenneth Cole officiating.  

Interment will follow at the Meadoway Gardens.  

Family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 1 P.M. at the funeral home.
