Gwendolyn “Gwen” Kay Reeves Loveless, (84), of LaGrange, Georgia passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at Heritage of LaGrange.

“Gwen” as she was affectionately called, was born Nov. 1, 1938 in Manchester, Georgia to the late Robert Douglas Reeves and Irene Walker Reeves. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Graden Edwin Loveless and her brother, Bob Reeves.

She is survived by her son, Joel Loveless of Milton, Georgia.; daughters, Lori (Chad) McIntyre of Kennesaw, Georgia and Dara Wooten (Sam Hester) of LaGrange, Georgia; granddaughters, Kari (Andrew) Lowery of LaGrange, Georgia, Kortney Jennings of Lagrange, Georgia, Mallorie (Ramsey) Wynne of Macon, Georgia; grandsons, Bryan (Becca) McIntyre of Kennesaw, Georgia and Kole Jennings of LaGrange, Georgia; four great granddaughters;  several nieces and nephews and her special childhood friends:  Janet Nixon Anderson, Leown Livingston Newman and Carolyn Meyer Baldwin.  Special caregivers, Leah Rutland and Melissa Gay that are also considered family.

Gwen lived in LaGrange 20 years prior to her marriage. She graduated from LaGrange High School in 1956 and LaGrange College in 1960.  

She was a member of the LaGrange Cotillion Club class of 1956.  In 1960, she left LaGrange with her husband to start her career as a military wife.  A role she was very proud to accept. After 17 years and 12 moves, she and Grady returned to LaGrange in 1977, to enjoy lake and golf course life for their retirement years. During her work tenure, she was a Catalog/Credit Supervisor for JC Penney for 15 years and retired from the Troup County School System as a Secretary after 7 years. 

Gwen was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church since 1977 and member of the Pairs and Spairs Sunday School Class.

There she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and Faith in Action. 

Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M. Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at First United Methodist Church in LaGrange, Georgia.

 The family will receive friends from 10 A.M. until service time at the church.  Burial will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens.
