Mrs. Shirley Bailey Whitworth passed away Friday.

She was born Nov. 12, 1960, in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia. She was reared by the late James Bailey and Alene Bailey.

At an early age, she received Christ and became a member of Mount Beulah Baptist Church, graduated from Troup High School, Class of 1978, and furthered her education at WGTC.

Shirley worked various jobs throughout the years but recently held positions as a cook for “The Hooch” and service worker for “The Fields”;  and many more positions; before opening her  restaurant, “Mrs. Shirley’s Café”.

Survivors include her husband, John Whitworth; children:  Charlene Bailey, Jamiel Hand, Gloria Bailey, Virginia “Casey” Bailey, and Patricia Bailey; seventeen loving, special grandchildren; two of which she was rearing, “The Twins”, Ebony and Ivory whom she loved unconditionally; nine siblings that she loved dearly; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins; special niece, Valencia Bailey; special cousin, Jackie Hills; and Shirley had so many special friends we wouldn’t want to leave anyone out.

The service will be Saturday at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
