Troup’s defense has no answers for the Fayette County attack on Thursday with the Tigers suffering a 103-61 defeat.

Fayette County came into the game on top of the standings in the region and did not relinquish its spot, improving to 8-1 in region play.

Troup was able to hang around early but could not find any momentum in the second half as the deficit became insurmountable. Troup hung in the game with Deo’Vion Tucker getting hot early. He hit two 3-pointers and had eight points in the first quarter to keep the Tigers within striking distance at the end of the first quarter (22-17). Troup’s offense stalled a bit in the second quarter as Fayette County’s offense continued to hum and that five point deficit became a 15 point deficit at the break.

The second half was more of the same as Fayette County scored with ease from all over the court.

Tucker finished as the Tigers leading scorer with 16 points — all in the first half. Dee Moreland was also effective on the offensive end with 15 points. Qua Moss scored 12 points while Jalen Brown was kept quiet with just five points on the night.

Troup fell to 8-11 overall and 1-7 in region play. The Tigers will be looking to snap their three game losing streak on Friday when they host North Clayton.
