This weekend LaGrange’s first annual Bridal Crawl will take place. Event creator and Plum Southern owner Kristin Sullivan said the Bridal Crawl is a new take on a traditional bridal show.

“I came up with this idea as a way to do something a little bit different — put a twist on traditional bridal shows and include a lot of the downtown businesses,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan said attendees will check in at the Courtyard by Marriott and from there be able to roam between the Del’avant, The Abbott Building, Plum Southern, An Affair to Remember and finish at the new Truitt Vanderbilt Club with a Bridal Fashion Show at 4 p.m.

“Attendees will get a little passport where they will get stamps as they visit with all the vendors in each location for a drawing at the fashion show,” Sullivan said.

She said that at each location there will be a few vendors, some of which might not be located downtown but still wanted to be a part of the event. Sullivan estimates the event will have a total of 30 vendors, with approximately 80 brides attending.

“We have brides registered from all over, not just LaGrange. We have brides coming from Peachtree City, Columbus, Newnan — we are excited to welcome other people into LaGrange,” Sullivan said.

Along with vendors, Sullivan said there will be prizes, gift bags given out to the brides and food and beverages served by numerous caterers that could potentially cater their weddings.

In her 25 years as a wedding planner, Sullivan said typically most brides get engaged at Christmas and New Year’s, and this is the time when they’re not quite sure where they’re going to get married, who their vendors are going to be, etc.

“This is the time to start helping people not to become overwhelmed,” Sullivan said. “A bridal show that simply does that, but I wanted it to be inclusive to include all of LaGrange downtown and make it be something that they’re walking to and having fun.”

For those interested in attending the Bridal Crawl, tickets can be purchased on the day of the event at the Courtyard by Marriott for $10 each.
