Callaway put on a clinic during its 54-22 win over Elite Scholars Academy on Friday night.

Lacey Thomas led the way and was a wrecking ball in the post. She single handedly outscored the entire Elite Scholars team in the game with 27 points. She did damage from all over, including a 3-pointer in the second quarter. She completely took over the game in the third quarter with 10 points.

The Cavaliers defense was stifling all night and only allowed four points in the first half, which put Callaway in a position to take a commanding 29-4 lead at halftime. The Cavaliers never let their opponents get a foothold and closed the game out with no chance of a Royal Knights rally.

Raniya Mahone was the second leading scorer for the Cavaliers with 10 points. Tra’Niya Mitchell finished with five points while Aniyah McFarland scored four. Jailyn Baker and Takayla Tucker each scored two points.

Callaway improved to 11-5 overall and 8-3 in region play. The Cavaliers will be back in action on Saturday away to Newnan in a non-region game.
