Callaway earned a critical 65-52 region win over Eagle’s Landing on Tuesday.

The Cavaliers were locked in a battle early as both offenses struggled in the opening quarters. The Cavaliers trailed by a point after the first quarter but were able to tie the game at 24 heading into halftime.

The Cavaliers offense exploded for 23 points in the third quarter which allowed Callaway to take a double figure lead into the fourth quarter. Callaway never let Eagle’s Landing back in the game in the fourth as they closed out the game comfortably.

The scoring was spread out for Callaway who had 11 different players score in the game. Tyrus Edwards led the team with 13 points. D’Arcy Harris scored 10 points while DeSun Coleman and Bryceton Sanders each scored nine points to help lead the offensive charge for the Cavaliers.

Exavious Reed returned to action after a long injury layoff and scored eight points in the game for Callaway.

Callaway improved to 11-8 overall and 10-3 in region play. The Cavaliers are currently second in the region standings and have just one more region game on the docket against Columbia at home on Friday before wrapping the regular season with a non-region game against Valley (AL) on Saturday.
