The LaGrange girls soccer team started their season with a tough 2-1 loss on the road to Northside (Columbus) on Thursday.

The Grangers went behind 1-0 before going into a two goal deficit. LaGrange was able to battle back and grab a lifeline when Karley Perry scored the opening goal of the season for the Grangers on a rebound off a saved Sam Cottle shot with eight minutes left in the match.

The Grangers were not able to get that all important goal to tie the match but still showed positive signs in the game.

LaGrange finished with nine shots and six shots on goal while allowing eight shots on their own goal.

Emma Maradik got the start in goal and made six saves in the match.

LaGrange fell to 0-1 on the season. The Grangers will be back in action on the road to McIntosh next Tuesday.
