LaGrange powered its way to a 69-54 region win over Starr’s Mill on the road Friday.

The Grangers controlled the majority of the game and closed it out in style. A hot start by the offense gave the Grangers a three point lead after the opening quarter and an eight point lead heading into halftime. It only got better from there for the Grangers, who scored 18 points in the third before closing out the game by outsourcing the Panthers by six points in the fourth.

The offense was spread around for the Grangers, who had nine different players score in the game. Devin Dowell led the team with 15 points while Jaq Hurston finished with 14 — he scored 12 of his points in the third quarter where he connected on three 3-pointers.

Bj Wortham and Isiah Green were the other two Grangers in double figure scoring on the evening. Jaylen Young scored eight points ith Kaleb Salter and J’Arthur Dunn scored four each. Mydarius Scott scored two points to round out the offense for the Grangers.

LaGrange improved to 18-5 overall and 9-3 in region play. The Grangers currently occupy the second spot in region 4-4A and will return to action Tuesday when they host Riverdale before closing out the season on the road to rivals Troup on Friday.
