Troup fell just short in a region game on the road to Riverdale on Friday. The Tigers suffered a 64-56 loss in a closely contested affair.

The Tigers offense could not get it going in the first quarter and they ended up trailing 17-11 heading into the second quarter. The second quarter saw the Tigers come to life and close the gap to just two points heading into halftime. The Raiders were able to stretch their lead back to six at the end of the third quarter and did not allow the Tigers to get back in the game in the fourth quarter.

Jalen Brown had one of his best games of the season and led all scorers with 24 points and connected on four 3-pointers as he did damage from all over the court. The only other Tiger in double figures for scoring was freshman Dee Moreland with 11 points. Deo’Vion Tucker finished with seven points while DeJaylen Campbell chipped in with four. Cordarian Blackmon, Desmon Cunningham, Jay Johnson, Taeo Todd and Qua Birdsong all finished with two points in the game to round out the scoring for the Tigers.

Troup could not slow down Demario Spear, who finished with 23 points despite not scoring in the first quarter.

Troup fell to 9-13 overall and 2-9 in region play. The Tigers will be back on the court away to Fayette County next Tuesday before hosting LaGrange next Friday in their regular season finale.
