Troup could not slow down Fayette County in a 80-64 loss on Tuesday.

The Tigers were thinking upset early when they jumped out to a 26-21 lead after the opening quarter. It was all hands on deck with seven different Tigers scoring in the opening eight minutes.

The Tigers got outscored in the second quarter but only trailed by a single point heading into the break. Unfortunately, the Tigers offense struggled on the other side of halftime. Troup could only muster nine points in the third quarter as Fayette County was able to open up a 12 point lead heading into the fourth quarter. The third quarter slump cost the Tigers, who could not find a way to rally in the final quarter.

Freshman Dee Moreland led the Tigers in scoring with 13 points and has shown great promise in his first season as a Tiger. Qua Moss and Taeo Todd each finished with 10 points. Jalen Brown and Desmon Cunningham scored six points apiece. DeJaylen Campbell and Deo’Vion Tucker scored five points each.

Troup fell to 9-15 overall and 2-11 in region play. The Tigers will close out the regular season on Friday when they host rivals LaGrange.
