LaGrange had a chance late but a last second miss saw the Grangers lose a heartbreaking game to Riverdale 41-38 at home on Tuesday.

The Grangers got off to a sluggish start and trailed 16-6 after the opening quarter. Coach Stephen Tuck got his girls refocused and were able to trim the deficit down to three heading into halftime. The Grangers’ offense struggled to get going in the third quarter as they could only score four points and the deficit turned into six heading into the final quarter of play.

The Grangers came storming back and were able to trim the lead to two points on multiple occasions but could not find the decisive basket to take the lead.

Corriah Williams led the Grangers in scoring with 11 points and connected on three 3-pointers. Nina Brooks finished with six points while Payton Swint finished with five. Zykia Gray and Brittney Heard each scored four points each.

LaGrange fell to 6-17 overall and 3-10 in region play. The Grangers will close out the regular season with a road game against rivals Troup on Friday.
