LaGrange came back from 19 points down to knock off Trinity Christian 67-61 in the region tournament third-place game.

The Grangers got off to a slow start, being outscored 17-9 in the opening quarter.  By halftime that deficit had ballooned up to 11 points (35-24) as the Grangers struggled to figure the Lions out.

The Grangers completely controlled the third quarter but were only able to trim the deficit down to eight points because of Ernesto Almonte, who scored all 12 points for the Lions in the third.

He was not alone, but Jaq Hurston put on a special performance in the fourth quarter. He connected on two 3-pointers late and scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter.

Not to be outdone, Devin Dowell took it up a notch in the fourth quarter as well, scoring half of his team-high 20 points over the last eight minutes of play.

BJ Wortham gave the Grangers some quality offense as well and finished with 12 points. The Grangers had nine different players score in the game and needed every single one of them as they pulled off a big rally to claim one of their biggest wins of the season.

LaGrange will enter the AAAA state playoffs as a third seed. The Grangers will be on the road next Tuesday or Wednesday for the opening round of the playoffs.
