The National Weather Service in Peachtree City confirmed to Troup County officials Friday evening that an EF-1 tornado touched down in the Hillside neighborhood Friday morning.

The tornado was prompted from a storm that prompted no warning from the National Weather Service. No tornado watch had been issued either.

County Manager Eric Mosley said the NWS said the twister was on the ground from an estimated time of 4:31 a.m. to 4:38 a.m. and the tornado had sustained winds of 90 mph. Mosley said small damage was tracked all the way to exit 18.
