William Shakespeare may have said, “The course of love never did run smooth”, but Lafayette Theatre Academy’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream runs perfectly.

Presented by Lafayette Society for Performing Arts (LSPA) and Practice Swing Indoor Golf Center, along with students of Lafayette Theatre Academy (LTA), William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is full of magic and love, intertwined in a mythological world of kings, queens, fairies and humans. Deemed as Shakespeare’s most famous play, Lafayette Theatre Academy delivers this best-known comedy with riotous performances, enchanting both Shakespearian fans and the Bard haters. Kelly Finley, director and LTA Theatre Education Director, leads her actors with her contiguous, cheerful energy as they tackle three Midsummer worlds: the semi-sinister realm of the fairies; the quartet of amusing star-crossed lovers, and the buffoonish villagers who are set on putting on a play.

Shows are Thursday, Feb. 23, Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25th at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb.  26, at 3 p.m. Feel free to bring your own food and beverages an hour before the show to enjoy with friends or purchase refreshments from the concessions area.
