When Sweetland Amphitheatre first opened, the hope was to bring premiere talent to LaGrange. The goal was to give locals the type of show they’d usually have to drive to Atlanta to see, minus all of the traffic. Something right in our backyard.

We’d say the concert venue has certainly succeeded in that goal, and every year, we get excited when it’s time to hear the list of artists coming our way again.

So far this year, we’ve only seen the initial lineup list, but boy is it a good one.

The first drop includes performances from Jeff Foxworthy, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Tracy Byrd with Jo Dee Messina and Tamela Mann.

Foxworthy’s visit will come roughly six months after Ron White graced the stage during his farewell tour, proving that comedy can succeed at Sweetland.

Isbell and Mann both figure to draw a crowd, while Byrd and Messina keep up the success of country music at the venue.

The weather was in the 80s on Wednesday, and you can feel Spring coming. In LaGrange, one of the joys of Spring are concerts at Sweetland, and it won’t be long.

In 65 days, Foxworthy will be performing right here in LaGrange. We’re counting down the days.
