LHS tennis earns home win over Northgate

The LaGrange girls and boys tennis teams earned a hard fought win over Northgate on Tuesday at the McCluskey Tennis Center. The girls were able to escape with a 3-2 win. Sophie Nix and Alisa Lee dominated in their singles matches, but it was Ana Rolling and Anna Claire Lumpkin who edged out a doubles win to push LaGrange over the line.

The LaGrange boys had an easier go of it, winning 4-1. The Grangers dominated in doubles and got a narrow win from Noah Black to help get them the win.

Girls Individual Results:

No. 1 Singles: Sophie Nix (LG) defeated Wheeless (N) 6 – 0, 6 – 0

No. 2 Singles: Siegel (N) defeated Lauren Burgess (LG) 6 – 4, 6 – 2

No. 3 Singles: Alisa Lee (LG) defeated Trembly (N) 6 – 2, 6 – 2

No. 1 Doubles: Vogel and Savio (N) defeated Minchae Kim and Abby Grace Kornek (LG)

5 – 7, 6 – 4, (10 – 6)

No. 2 Doubles: Ana Rollings and Anna Claire Lumpkin (LG) defeated Morris and Valentino

(N) 2 – 6, 6 – 2, (10 – 8)

Boys Individual Results:

No. 1 Singles: Dunn (N) defeated Wesley Minicozzi (LG) 6 – 4, 6 – 3

No. 2 Singles: Noah Black (LG) defeated Smith (N) 6 – 3, 4 – 6, (10 – 5)

No. 3 Singles: Henry Huberdeau (LG) defeated Bergum (N) 6 – 1, 6 – 0

No. 1 Doubles: Towson Partin and Greg Terry (LG) defeated Stefan and Takvorian (N)

6 – 0, 6 – 1

No. 2 Doubles: Kevin Park and Collin Jeffries (LG) defeated Onohwosa and Boney (N)

Season Record

The girls are now 6-4 while the boys improved 8-2 on the season with region play yet to start. The Grangers start region play on Thursday against Starr’s Mill on the road.
