Mr. Ray Douglas Martin, age 78, of Aiken, South Carolina, formerly of LaGrange, passed away on March 5, 2023. Mr. Martin was born on January 8, 1945, in LaGrange to the late Harlen and Mae Bell Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death a sister, Audrey Presnell. 

He was a Licensed Electrician and retired from Lucent Technologies. He was an avid outdoorsman and tournament fisherman. He enjoyed traveling all over the country hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his daughters, Cindy Martin Skelton and Dana Michelle Jones (David); grandchildren, Sarah Jones, William Jones, James Bitrick (Monica) and Casey Hall; great-grandchildren, Kylee Bitrick and Elijah Bitrick; his first wife, LaJue Martin; several nephews, nieces and their children.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 3:00 pm at the Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter Allen Myhand Chapel. Interment will follow at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Saturday at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 pm.
