On Wednesday, the LaGrange-Troup County Chamber of Commerce held a double ribbon cutting for two businesses at the same location — Making Memories Vinyl & Creations and Legacy Vapes.

Mother-daughter duo Santana Woodard and Cindy Bucheger are the owners of Making Memories Vinyl & Creations.

“We saw a need for customized personalized products in LaGrange and tried to get on the level of what customers look for in the vinyl and customization world. This is something that my daughter and I have cherished for many years, and we work hard to take care of our customers and our community,” Bucheger said.

Woodard said they service a lot of small businesses and people who love to create things. However many of them don’t have access to all of the materials they need. At their business, Bucheger said customers are able to buy what they need at an affordable price.

“We also help people add personal touches to things like keychains, hats, shirts —  it’s more special to get something with initials because then it acknowledges something personal, that means a lot to them,” Woodard said.

Bucheger said some of the designs used in the store are brought online, but most designs are made in-house by Woodard.

“Sometimes customers will bring us their idea, and we go to work on helping them bring their vision to life,” Bucheger said.

“We are a great team because if I can’t pull it off, she can,” Woodard said. “We bounce off of each other to create and make our customer’s vision happen.”

Upon officially being open and joining the chamber, the duo said they feel honored.

“I feel tickled. Two years ago, my mom went to the hospital and almost didn’t make it because of COVID. She was on the ventilator for eight days, and I didn’t know if she was going to make it,” Woodard said. “When we got this chance, I wasn’t going to let it go by. My mom is very precious to me, and l love being able to do this with her.”

Trio Jeff Folds, Zack Thrower and Joe Washington are the owners of Legacy Vapes.

Legacy Vapes is a shop that specializes in healthier alternatives to quit smoking and addiction.

“We like to offer a lot of people options to quit original or combustible cigarettes and give people a chance of having a healthier life. We’ve seen a lot of our family members that have passed away from smoking cigarettes and our biggest thing is just to help people get off of those and live a little bit healthier,” Thrower said.

The business is family-owned and its staff has been working together for a while, Folds said.

“We were in a different location and had a different atmosphere but now starting from scratch again, we are very confident on being able to move forward,” Folds said.

Making Memories Vinyl & Creations and Legacy Vapes are located at 104 Sage Commercial Dr.
