You know a business is successful when over 200 people comment on a story just because it’s moving across town.

We reported Thursday that Chick-fil-A on Commerce Avenue is moving from its current location to the new Vernon Road location, near the new Publix in that area.

Anyone who has been to the restaurant on Commerce Avenue knows how congested it can be, not only with people turning in off of the congested Commerce Avenue, but also trying to get in and out.

The drive-thru is very tight so that traffic can still flow. However, the lunch traffic often results in a double loop around the outside of the building.

We’re Southerners, so just about all of us love Chick-fil-A, and it shows in how many people go there to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The business operator, Josh Sells, said the Commerce Avenue Chick-fil-A has four times as many employees as it had when he started 12 years ago. He also said they tried many solutions to make the Commerce Avenue location work.

We certainly understand the frustration some have shown in our comments section, as many of us live close to the Commerce location.

But ultimately, we completely understand this decision. It’s clear a lot of thought went into it.

Also, no one should fret yet. The Commerce location will be open for a while before moving sometime around the summer.

And even when that happens, there will still be two locations to get Chick-fil-A in LaGrange, which is much more than many cities have.
