Huckleberry pitches no-hitter, Callaway dominated McNair for region win

Callaway demolished McNair 20-0 to earn an easy region victory on Monday as the game lasted all of three innings. 

Garrett Huckleberry stole the show and pitched a no hitter, striking out eight of the 10 batters he faced. 

He was not the only Cavalier who starred in the game with Blake Sheppard leading the way offensively with four RBI. He also scored two runs in the game. Slade Hunt went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Houston Wilson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI. 

Bryce Hubbard and Landon Alsobrook each had a hit apiece. Lashun Gates, Blake Herrington, Brantin Swanson, Alsobrook and Wilson all had an RBI apiece. 

It did not take long for the outcome of the game to be apparent with the Cavaliers blasting 14 runs past McNair in the opening inning. Three runs in each of the next two innings saw Callaway cruise to an easy win without having to exert much effort. 

Callaway is now 11-4 on the season and 5-1 in region play. The Cavaliers will play their third game in a series of four games in four days this week on Wednesday when they take on Eagle’s Landing on the road as they have a chance to avenge their only region loss of the season.
