Put on your finest green duds and head to Downtown LaGrange for the city’s seventh annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party.

This year’s block party will take place on Bull Street on Saturday, March 18 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

For those unfamiliar with the tradition, the city blocks off a portion of either Bull or Main Street each year for a celebration in honor of Ireland’s most famous saint.

The celebration wouldn’t be the same without some proper Irish drinks, so adult beverages will be available from the restaurants along Bull Street and allowed in the blocked-off area.

Visitors are encouraged to purchase food and beverages from downtown restaurants and enjoy them on Bull St. No outside adult beverages are permitted.

The event will feature live music from Wolf & Clover, an Irish Inspired alt-folk band. The band will be joined by Cigarette Girl for a unique mix of Celtic-inspired folk music and Irish-themed covers.

Dancers from Drake School of Irish Dance out of Opelika, Alabama will also return for an authentic Irish dancing performance.

There will also be plenty of fun for kids with face painting, balloon animals, specialty drinks and more.

The family-friendly event is hosted by the Downtown LaGrange Development Authority (DLDA).

The event is free and open to the public. According to the DLDA, all table reservations have already sold out.
