The Troup County schools are still the standard bearers for GreenPower in the West Georgia-East Alabama area, dominating the competition at the SOLV Energy 400 Results on Saturday. 

Troup captured the top three spots in the F24 Intermediate Stock. Long Cane Middle took the top spot with a perfect score while Lafayette Christian and Callaway Middle School placed second and third respectively. Inspire Academy had three cars in this event, placing fifth, eight and ninth.

The Cougar Strong race team dominated the presentation portion, scoring three perfect scores. Callaway Middle also had a strong presentation score, finishing fifth with a 99.50, behind only the four teams that earned perfect scores. Inspire Academy finished seventh in presentation while Lafayette Christian was ninth for intermediate. 

The intermediate modified saw Long Cane Middle’s 999 team take top spot with a perfect score while Long Cane Middle’s 000 race team finished in second place. 

Advanced Sock saw three local teams take part with Troup High finishing the highest of the three in third place. ThINC finished sixth while Callaway finished in seventh place. 

Troup High also had a strong showing in the advanced modified classification, finishing third. Inspire Academy and Callaway High finished seventh and eight in the classification. 

For the advanced stock presentation, Callaway High School finished top dawg amongst local schools with a score of 99, good enough for a second place finish. ThINC, Troup High, and Inspire Academy finished fifth, seventh and 11th respectively. 

For the national standings in the intermediate stock division, Long Cane Middle’s 555 race team is pacing the pack with Lafayette Christian chomping at their heels in second. Inspire Academy is third while Callaway Middle sits eighth.

For the intermediate modified, Long Cane Middle 999 team is barely ahead of Long Cane Middle’s 000 team atop the standings. 

In the advanced stock division, Troup High continues to put together a strong season and currently sits in second. ThINC occupies fifth while Callaway High is in 10th.

Troup High has been equally as impressive in the advanced modified division and sits second in this standings as well. Inspire is currently in fifth while Callaway High sits in ninth.

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, GreenPower will be back in Troup County. The fifth annual Diverse Power Grand Prix at LaGrange College (Callaway Campus) is right around the corner with over 30 teams expected to participate.
