The LaGrange baseball team handled business at The Branch on Friday, dealing Riverdale two losses to extend their winning streak to four games. 

The first game lasted all of 2.5 innings with the Grangers expending little energy to earn a 16-0 region win. The LaGrange offense plated 10 runs in the first before adding another six runs in the second inning. 

Trey Cook put in a dominant showing on the mound, pitching three innings and allowing just one hit on seven strikeouts. 

It was a youth movement for the Grangers as a ton of their regular starters and veterans got rest and made way for some guys that will play integral roles in the future.

Sophomores Jackson Bozeman, Caden Wood, Brandon Bennett and Grady Westmoreland were superb from the plate, all getting two hits each on the night. Bennett was tied for the team lead with three RBIs while Wood and Bozeman drove in two runs apiece. 

Rob Skinner also had three RBIs in the game to go along with his hit. Ty Monteith, Lucas Harpole and Kayden Sutton all had a hit each in the game. 

Game two was more of the same with LaGrange dominating Riverdale 23-0 in a game that went just two innings. 

Cole Garner pitched a no-hitter through three innings of work, striking out six batters along the way. He is usually behind the plate as the starting catcher but showed his elite versatility with his showing on the mound. 

Offensively, Westmoreland picked up right where he left off after the first game led the team with three hits and four runs scored while also chipping in with three RBIs in a dominant showing from the sophomore. Bennett was also superb after an electric game one, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored and four RBIs. 

Pitching ace Trevor Booton rarely sees time at the plate but showed his two-way play by going 2-for-3 with four runs scored and an RBI in the game. Wood, Monteith, Harpole, Skinner, all had two hits in the game. Mason Calhoun and Bozeman had a hit apiece. 

It was light work for LaGrange who improved to 12-7 overall and is an impressive 5-1 in region play. The Grangers will be back on the diamond next Tuesday when they host North Clayton for a doubleheader.
