Callaway girls soccer lost its penultimate game of the season 5-2 to Sandy Creek.

The Cavaliers did not bring their A game on the road and it cost them as they saw their four game win streak snapped.

The Cavaliers were actually able to capture the first lead of the game when Kate McAteer scored the opening goal 23 minutes in. Three goals from Sandy Creek in the span of five minutes on the eve of the halftime whistle saw the Cavaliers trail 3-1 at the break. Sandy Creek scored two more goals to open the second half before Isla Garcia scored Callaway’s second in the last five minutes of the game.

Callaway is now 14-3 on the season. The Cavaliers finished 6-1 in region 5-AA and will host a playoff game in the opening round of the playoffs. Callaway will play its final game of the regular season on Thursday at home versus Heritage.
