The LaGrange tennis teams traveled to the Peachtree City Tennis Complex Tuesday and Wednesday and had a terrific showing. The girls team went on a tear to claim its second straight region championship while the boys earned a home playoff match by finishing in second place in the region behind Starr’s Mill.

The girls just narrowly edged out Starr’s Mill 3-2 to claim the region title. No. 1 singles player Sophie Nix was absolutely dominant, winning 6-1 in both sets to cruise to a win. The no. 2 doubles team of Alisa Lee and Anna Claire Lumpkin won 6-2 and 6-4 to earn an important win for the Grangers. No. 3 singles player Ana Rollings won the pivotal match, winning the first set 7-5 before dropping the second set 3-6 before winning the tie break 10-4 to give the Grangers a region championship. Singles player Lauren Burgess and doubles players Minchae Kim and Ava Wallace lost to the Panthers.

To get to the finals, the Grangers beat Whitewater 3-2 in another close match for the Grangers.
