LaGrange City Council candidate arrested on simple battery charges

A LaGrange City Council candidate has been arrested and charged with simple battery, according to the LaGrange Police Department.

Terry Stanford, who is currently running for city council, was arrested Monday afternoon at his business, Stanford Automotive & Repair, located at 66 Youngs Mill Road in LaGrange.

Lt. Mark Cavender said Stanford was charged with simple battery-misdemeanor.

The full report was not yet filed, but Cavender said some type of dispute took place, leading to the arrest.

Stanford is running against Jim Arrington in the District 1 city council race.
