The LaGrange girls soccer team saw its season come to an end on Monday in the AAAA state quarterfinals, losing 5-0 to North Oconee.

The Grangers let in a goal in the opening minutes and could never recover, trailing 2-0 at the break. LaGrange could not get much going on offense, getting two shots off on goal.

Emma Maradik made nine saves in goal.

The Grangers will lose three seniors — Tatum Fritchley, Gabi Martinez and Maddi Gay — but will return the vast majority of the team and will look to build on this year’s finish despite the quality players departing. LaGrange fell to North Oconee 8-0 in the second round of the state playoffs a season ago and has improved in year two under coach Job Callahan.

LaGrange finished one of the best seasons in program history 11-10 which is not indicative of how well the team played this season as the Grangers took on a tough schedule and played 15 of those 20 games away from home.
