Mr. Charles B. Yancey, a LaGrange native, passed away Friday at his home in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born on April 16, 1932, in LaGrange, Georgia, to Ira Almond Yancey and Nora Yancey.

Charlie attended Troup County, Georgia public schools and played amateur baseball in the local league. He moved to Columbus, Ohio, as a young adult.

For many years, he worked for the Continental Baking Co. (the company that makes Wonder Bread) and retired in 1994. He is survived by his daughters:  Sandra Allen, Gloria (Samuel) Lewis, and Tia Johnson; his niece, Pamela (Jackie) Yancey Davis; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.  The Service will be Saturday at 3 P.M. in the Chapel of Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home. The excellent care of Mr. Yancey is being provided by Lakes-Dunson-Robertson Funeral Home.
