Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

The Troup baseball team did not make the playoffs this season as they were stuck in a very tough region, but the Tigers had some standout players in 2023. The Tigers had one player named to first team all-region with three others named to the second team for the region 4-4A. The true standout was Devon Murphy, who won hitter of the year for region 4-4A. He hit .422 with a whopping .500 on base percentage while being tied for second in the team with 23 RBIs. While he earned plaudits for his hitting, Murphy was also a quality pitcher for the Tigers.

Senior catcher Ty Medders was the lone Tiger to be named to the first team. Medders hit .284 with a .432 on base percentage with 12 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

Senior Josh McDonald was named to second team first baseman. He led the team with six home runs and was tied for second on the team with 23 RBIs, all while hitting .328 from the plate. Joining him on the second team was fellow member of the Super Bash Brothers, Reed Morris. The senior third baseman hit five home runs and led the team with 25 RBIs. He was more than just power and hit .351 overall as a senior.

Sophomore pitcher Demetrius Hardnett also made the second team with a breakout season on the mound. He led the team in innings pitched (48 1/3) and struck out a whopping 68 batters to go along with his 2.75 ERA.
